Everton: Fans fume at Carlo Ancelotti’s injury update on Mason Holgate

Many Everton fans have been fuming at injury update on Mason Holgate by Carlo Ancelotti after his team beat Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 in their Premier League season opener.
The central defender missed the Merseyside club’s win over Spurs and Ancelotti confirmed after the game (via the Liverpool Echo) that Holgate will be out “for 8-12 weeks.”
Indeed, this is a bit of a blow to the Toffees after a great win, as the 23-year-old played in a total of 32 games for the Blues in all competitions in 2019/20, scoring one goal and making three assists, according to Transfermarkt.
Aside from fellow senior centre-back options Michael Keane and Yerry Mina, Everton would then have to look at fringe players like Jarrad Branthwaite and Matthew Pennington for cover in that role, and so it may beg the question as to whether they should sign another centre-half, perhaps on loan, to cover for injuries and suspensions.
Is Holgate the best centre-back at Everton?
Yes

No

These Toffees supporters were left fuming upon reading the news on Twitter:
We defo need cover then …

He's a loss, but hopefully, Mina & keane will play well together, now they have proper protection from the midfield

Hopeless injury and extremely careless. Makes a mistake and gets injured.
Everton have to sign a senior centre back… can’t go into a season again with just three + a youngster.
