Up and coming product of the Everton youth set up Anthony Gordon has attracted a lot of praise lately.
The Merseyside outfit’s academy system is one to be admired, after Wayne Rooney went from a plucky young Blue to a worldwide household name and international star. Since his era, Everton have continued to churn out exciting talent from their youth ranks.
Tom Davies is another fine example of a youngster who has broken through into the senior team. Gordon seems to also be following in similar footsteps, making his first team debut against West Ham in January.
Should Anthony Gordon be given more time in the first team?
The 19-year-old has been training with the first team since Premier League sides were given the green light to prepare for the season restart. After posting a photo on Twitter captioned ‘Always learning’, many Everton fans have flocked to show their support for his progress so far.
One supporter has tweeted that the teenager is ‘getting close’ to being a permanent member of the senior team, whilst another fan ‘can’t wait’ to see Gordon in action. Meanwhile, a third even dubbed him the ‘ginger [Eden] Hazard’.
