Many Everton fans have been lauding the signing of Imam Jagne to the Academy of the Merseyside club after it was confirmed on the official website of the Toffees.
According to the Blues, the talented teenage midfield player has signed at Goodison Park from Swedish club BK Hacken, penning a three-year contract with EFC until the end of June 2023.
Where will Everton finish in the Premier League?
7th - 10th
Jagne, who turned 17 on Thursday, will join the Everton Academy and will be eligible to play once his Minor application, the registration process for young players from EU countries, has been approved by FIFA.
Born in Gambia, the 17-year old youngster moved to Sweden aged six and has represented his adopted country at U17 level.
Jagne claimed that he was inspired by the Director of Football Marcel Brands to sign for the Merseyside club in an interview with the Goodison Park faithful:
“I spoke a lot to [Director of Football] Marcel Brands and he told me about the Club’s ambitions and I am more than ready to work 100 per cent to get to where I want to be with Everton.”
These EFC supporters lauded the signing as it was announced on the official Twitter page of the Everton Academy, as they perhaps feel as if Jagne could be one for the future for the Toffees:
Love it! Ten caps for Sweden U17s so hopefully a hot prospect
