Lots of Everton fans have welcomed recent remarks made by ex-Toffees player Gerard Deulofeu on Ronald Koeman, his former manager and newly-appointed head coach at Barcelona.
“I can tell you about Koeman from my personal experience. He gave me absolutely nothing as a coach. I was not happy. I asked to leave and went to Milan.”
Indeed, Deulofeu only managed to play in 13 games in all competitions at Goodison Park under Koeman, as he only completed the full 90 minutes once in a match (coincidentally against his current team) and was consistently left on the bench or even out of the squad altogether, according to Transfermarkt.
It is perhaps safe to say that some Everton supporters did not have the best of relationships with the Dutchman either, as some were frankly quite shocked at his recent appointment by Barcelona.
Indeed, Koeman lasted only 58 matches while in charge of the Blues, winning just 24 of those games, drawing 14 and losing the other 20 (per Transfermarkt), giving him a win ratio of around 41.4%.
Should Koeman have been sacked by Everton?
Perhaps it is unsurprising, then, to see these Toffees fans laud Deulofeu’s comments on Twitter, with one fan even going as far as to call Koeman a ‘horrible manager’:
I feel sorry for those Barca players, he’s a horrible horrible manager.

Koeman didn’t want to be at efc you could see it, smell it and hear it. Even though there was plenty of money, the job required hard work. A FANTASTIC project was wasted on Koeman.
