Plenty of Everton fans have been lauding Lucas Digne after a stat emerged on Twitter that he has delivered the most key passes out of all left-back’s in the Premier League over the least two seasons.
Who would you rather play at left-back for Everton?
As per his media adviser Lars Hendel’s tweet, the 26-year old delivered 71 key passes in the last campaign, 20 more than the next best Andy Robertson, and in the 2019/20 term he has repeated the trick by making 60 key passes in total, again beating the Liverpool defender as the next best on 44.
If you compare the two men in the top flight so far this season, Digne actually averages more tackles, clearances, shots and crosses per league game, according to Whoscored.
The Frenchman has shown that he can be a threat both going forward and defensively, as he has also made six assists and created seven big chances in England’s highest division so far this season, whilst winning 6.2 duels per match and helping his team collect six clean sheets, (via Sofascore).
These EFC supporters lauded their full-back after reading the stats, with one labelling him “magic”:
