Loads of Everton fans have lauded the latest comments by Mason Holgate to evertonfc.com as he spoke about the difficulties he has faced, his talks with Marcel Brands and his happiness at deciding to stay with the Merseyside club.
The England under-21 international was shipped out on loan to West Bromwich Albion in the 2018/19 season, where he played in 23 games in all competitions, according to Transfermarkt.
Holgate grew as a player and became an integral part to the Everton team last campaign, playing in 32 matches in all competitions, scoring one goal and making three assists, as per Transfermarkt.
Comparing the statistics of the central defender to Michael Keane and Yerry Mina in the Premier League in the last term, Holgate averaged the most tackles, dribbles, long and through balls per top-flight game, while also having the highest pass success percentage (via Whoscored).
Is Holgate the best centre-back at Everton?
These members of the Goodison Park faithful on Twitter lauded his comments:
