Many Everton fans have reacted to the latest injury update given by Carlo Ancelotti as he hopes that both Andre Gomes and Mason Holgate will be fit enough to play some sort of part in their Premier League away game at Molineux against Nuno Espirito Santo’s Wolverhampton Wanderers tomorrow, as per the Merseyside club’s official Twitter page.
However, a couple of Everton supporters have called for Ancelotti to play the latter in the centre of midfield, with one Toffee pleading to the Italian to put ‘Holgate in CDM’.
This may not be a bad idea as the 23-year old has provided more assists than both Andre Gomes and Tom Davies, who both started the match against the Saints, in the Premier League so far in the 2019/20 season, while also averaging more long balls and through balls per game, according to Whoscored.
Should Everton start Holgate in midfield?
Another member of the Goodison Park faithful urged Ancelotti to ‘start Kean over DCL’, as Dominic Calvert-Lewin did not have the best of games on Thuesday, failing to register a single shot on target and only managing a 6.2 overall rating on Sofascore.
