Plenty of Everton fans have been reacting to Alex Iwobi scoring a brace for Nigeria versus Sierra Leone in a jam-packed game which finished 4-4.
The Super Eagles were actually 4-0 up but got pegged back, with Iwobi scoring two of the goals, one of which was shared by a fan on Twitter and prompted quite a bit of reaction.
Should Everton cut their losses on Iwobi?
Some members of the Goodison Park faithful were questioning as to why the 24 year-old does not score goals like these often enough for the Merseyside club, while others played down the strikes based on his poor form for Carlo Ancelotti’s team.
Indeed, Iwobi is yet to find the back of the net in seven games in the Premier League so far in the 2020/21 term, and has only managed to score one goal and make two assists in nine matches in all competitions (Transfermarkt).
Everton fan reaction to Iwobi goals
These Everton supporters gave fairly mixed reactions on Twitter when seeing that Iwobi had scored twice, with one Blue even claiming that it was ‘classic’ from the winger to do well for his country but not for the Toffees:
Our players are boss when they go play for the countries then come back and forget how to kick a ball
