Fans of Everton have been reacting to a post on Twitter, in which the Toffees confirmed a partnership with Irish side Sligo Rovers.
In a statement posted on the club’s website, Everton stated that the deal with Sligo Rovers was a sign of the club continuing to ‘strengthen its international ties’, with the two sides set to ‘exchange knowledge across both coaching and business operations’ as part of the new deal.
Prior to the partnership, arguably the biggest link between the two clubs was Everton’s signing of now-club captain Seamus Coleman from Rovers back in 2009, with the right-back going on to make over 300 appearances for the Toffees.
And, after the Toffees relayed news of their new deal on Twitter, fans of the club flocked to have their say on the matter, with many appearing delighted at the partnership.
