Everton: Fans react to footage of Nikola Vlasic wonder strike for CSKA Moscow

A number of Everton fans have been reacting to footage which emerged of Nikola Vlasic firing in a wonder strike for CSKA Moscow during a convincing win against Arsenal Tula on Monday.
Vlasic was allowed to leave Goodison Park back in the summer of 2019 for a fee of around £14 million, after the 23-year-old had enjoyed an impressive campaign out on loan in Russia the previous season. The Croatian managed to continue that form into last term scoring 12 goals and providing a further five assists (Sofascore).
The 23-year-old always had potential, but he failed to ever really establish himself at Goodison Park after Roland Koeman brought him to the club off the back of an impressive performance against the Toffees in the Europa League for Hajduk Split.
The Croatian, though, only managed to make 12 Premier League appearances for the Toffees which all came in the 2017/18 season. In those games, he only managed to average one key pass and 0.3 shots per game (Sofascore). The following summer he was allowed to leave on loan and has since gone on to become a vital player for CSKA Moscow.
Footage has now emerged on Twitter of Vlasic producing an excellent strike for CSKA Moscow in a 5-1 demolition of Arsenal Tula in the Russian Premier League. The Croatian scored a brace in that win to take his current tally for the season to six goals and five assists.
Everton fans react to Vlasic footage
Some Everton fans were keen to point out that Vlasic could well have emerged as a key player for them under Carlo Ancelotti had he not been sold. While others suggested that it was the right decision to sell him at the time due to not having shown enough for them at that stage.
Timing was all wrong, they would be decent squad players now under Carlo

Vlasic I think we should defo given more time. Lookman was gone once his head went

Vlasic and lookman had their chance regardless of what manager they played under at goodison. They both flopped here and to be honest I can’t see anything to change my mind since they have moved on. Great strike that though

Wish we kept Vlasic. Lookman was nothing special and still doesn’t look it now imo. Fulham are a poor side and he couldn’t hack it in the Bundesliga

I’ll never understand the Vlasic sale
