Lots of Everton fans have been reacting to the goal scored by Gylfi Sigurdsson for Iceland versus Hungary on Thursday night.
As per a clip shared by The Toffee Blues on their Twitter page, the attacking midfield player looped a free kick over the wall and it was fumbled over the line by former Liverpool goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi.
Should Everton cash in on Sigurdsson?
Nonetheless, it will still another goal for his country for Sigurdsson, who now has no fewer than 25 senior international goals in total.
The goal got several members of the Goodison Park faithful agitated, as the 31 year-old has still yet to score directly from a free kick for the Merseyside club, despite his obvious prowess from set piece situations.
He has scored 13 times directly from free kicks in his club career so far, so perhaps Toffees fans are fair to feel aggrieved that he has not yet scored one for Carlo Ancelotti’s team.
Everton fan reaction to Sigurdsson goal
These EFC supporters reacted to the goal scored by Sigurdsson on Twitter, with one Blue even claiming that the midfielder is a ‘fraud’ as he can seemingly score from free kicks for any club other than theirs:
Absolutely never scoring a free kick for us.
