Many Everton fans have been reacting to some comments made by Landon Donovan reflecting on his time with the Goodison Park faithful.
Speaking to the official website of the Merseyside club, the retired USA international reflected upon his first time walking into the ground, as well as how he felt after leaving the Toffees:
“When I walked into Goodison for the first time, I felt so loved and accepted by absolutely everybody. I would run through a wall for any of those people. Leaving was really hard because I fell in love with the place.”
He was not with the Blues for long, spending just two terms there in total, but he clearly felt the impact of Everton on him in a relatively short space of time.
Would you like Donovan as Everton boss one day?
In the two seasons that he spent as a Toffee, Donovan played in 22 games in all competitions, scoring two goals and making a further nine assists (Transfermarkt).

You definitely wanted to sign but after criticising DB and his commitment to LA/MLS you just couldn’t. Great player.
