Everton are reportedly ‘hopeful’ the Merseyside derby will be held at Goodison Park once the season resumes.
Premier League clubs have been given the green light to recommence this campaign’s fixtures, starting on June 17 (via BBC Sport). For runaway leaders Liverpool, their upcoming match against the Blues could see them crowned champions if Arsenal can beat Manchester City.
Should Everton keep or sell Jean-Philippe Gbamin?
According to Paul Joyce, the club has requested a meeting with Liverpool City Council’s safety advisory group over hosting the upcoming derby at Goodison Park. This comes after news emerged last week that police were keen for the game to take place at a neutral venue (Liverpool Echo).
Blues fans have responded in a mixture of ways, with some dreading the idea of potentially handing the Reds the title on Everton soil. One supporter however, feel it would be ‘genuinely scandalous’ if the derby doesn’t go ahead as originally planned and instead is played out at a neutral venue, understandably so given the reverse fixture has already been played at Anfield.
Genuinely scandalous if it doesn’t happen at Goodison, taints the title otherwise

Another Evertonian feels the competition is already over and has commented that it ‘means absolutely nothing now’.
The competition as we know it is finished for the season anyway, too many rule changes for it to be known as the premier league 19/20 season. Means absolutely nothing now

Who actually cares, it’s boring all this. The stadium is still empty so there’s no advantage
