Plenty of Everton fans have been thrilled by some comments made by Dominic Calvert-Lewin ahead of the Merseyside derby versus Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday.
What will be the outcome of the derby?
As per the Toffees’ official website, the 23-year old was ‘very emotional’ when he heard about what happened to George Floyd in the United States of America and he is ‘sad’ to see that racism still exists in the world.
Calvert-Lewin has been involved in the Black Lives Matter movement and has used his football platform to spread the message.
Players from both sets of teams in the derby will have the names on the back of their shirts replaced with ‘Black Lives Matter’ as was prominent in both matches involving Aston Villa, Sheffield United, Manchester City and Arsenal.
Ahead of the game itself, the Englishman said that it was ‘huge’ and added that he is ‘feeling good and feeling sharp’, which will surely please several members of the Blues faithful.
Calvert-Lewin also talked about his work on the pitch, as the striker has scored a relatively impressive 15 goals and also contributed a handy assist in 32 appearances in all competitions, according to Transfermarkt.
These EFC supporters seemed thrilled by his comments both on the movement and the match on Twitter:
ma men, he's THE lad.

Well said Dominic, parity, unity and equality should be how we all live our lives regardless of history, if we do this the past will just become a lesson 👍
