Everton returned to Premier League action with a positive result against Liverpool.
The Toffees held the champions elect to a 0-0 draw at Goodison Park, and even had good chances through Richarlison, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Tom Davies late on to snatch all three points.
Their next game is up against Norwich, who currently prop up the table – Carlo Ancelotti will surely be looking to get three points on the board.
Here, we try to predict his starting XI.
England international Jordan Pickford has received stick at times during this campaign, but he kept a clean sheet against Liverpool and, with a lack of competition behind him, he will start between the sticks.
The back four should remained unchanged as well following that previous match. That would mean that Lucas Digne, Mason Holgate, Michael Keane and Seamus Coleman start in front of the goalkeeper.
The clash against the Reds is the first match the Merseyside outfit have played in three months, so Ancelotti will likely need to make some changes to keep his players fresh. Anthony Gordon made his first start for the club in the Premier League on Sunday, but picked up a WhoScored rating of just 6.42 – that could see Bernard come into the first XI. Andre Gomes should keep his place, but the manager may look to Sigurdsson to provide some more creativity in the middle of the park, and Richarlison may drop back to right midfield.
Will Everton beat Norwich this midweek?
That would give the opportunity to Moise Kean to partner Dominic Calvert-Lewin up front. The Italian has scored just one goal since making the move to England, but the lack of fans getting on his back could give him the boost he needs to show why the Toffees decided to sign him.
