Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been in supreme form for Everton so far this campaign, and has received some fantastic praise from Roberto Martinez as a result.
Calvert-Lewin had a decent season last time out, scoring 15 goals in 41 matches, but this term, he has hit a whole other level. In just six games in all competitions, he has nine goals, and he is currently joint-top of the Premier League goalscoring chart.
His form saw him receive a maiden call-up to the England squad, and he again hit the ground running as he scored on his debut against Wales. On Sunday, the Three Lions faced Belgium, who are currently managed by former Everton boss Martinez. Unsurprisingly, he was asked about Calvert-Lewin, and he had nothing but positive things to say. He even said he was as good as any number nine in Gareth Southgate’s squad – including Harry Kane.

Martinez’s comments could not have gone down better with the Goodison Park outfit’s fans. They took to Twitter to share their thoughts.
Let’s see what the Everton fans had to say about Martinez
Impossible to hate Bobby isn’t it. https://t.co/PJZtuzxjzy

Our modern day Gordon Lee so close but has charisma and class aplenty

He’s still a blue him, he never has a bad word to say about Everton, he has so much more class than some of our other recent former managers, nothing but respect for him

Fella completely got us. Brought the legend that was Howard Kendall back, brought big Dunc in and played sensational football in that first season. Was sad how it ended however it was for the best at the time. One of the few of our last managers I want to see succeed.
