Everton: Noel Whelan hails Allan’s early impressions at Goodison Park - Everton News

Noel Whelan has hailed Allan and the impact that he has made at Everton since arriving from Napoli in the summer transfer window.

Speaking to Football Insider, the former Leeds and Coventry striker was full of praise for the Brazilian midfielder, who he has apparently wowed Merseyside club staff in training.

What year did Moyes first take charge at Everton?

Whelan gave the outlet his thoughts on Allan’s impact at Goodison Park so far, saying:

“I’ve been really impressed by Allan.

“Obviously, everyone’s talking about James Rodriguez and rightly so. He’s been sensational.

“But Allan has been incredible as well. You want your signings to instantly make the team better and he’s done that straight away.

“He’s looked really sharp, full of energy, won the ball and kept it well. Carlo Ancelotti knew what he was getting and how good he could be for Everton.”

Allan has been ‘incredible’

Indeed, as Whelan puts it, Allan has been ‘incredible’ for Carlo Ancelotti’s team so far this season.

In the three Premier League games that he has played so far, the Brazil international has won a rather impressive 6.7 of his duels per match and has also averaged four tackles, 1.7 clearances and 1.3 interceptions per game, as per Sofascore.

Allan is a ‘defender’s dream’

Michael Keane referred to Allan as a ‘defender’s dream’ in an interview that he did with the club’s official website last month, and with figures like those which he is producing in the Premier League, it is hard to disagree with the Everton defender.

The Toffees have won four out of four games in the league so far in this season, and there is no doubt that Allan has played his part in that early success.

The Blues currently sit top of the table, and so long as the 29-year-old stays in the team, Everton could remain in that position for a while, provided he can keep himself fit for the rest of the campaign.
