The Guardian journalist Will Unwin has revealed a significant Everton update involving Jarrad Branthwaite which will now occur in the 'next 24-48 hours'.
The Lowdown: Branthwaite loan to PSV
Writing in his latest piece for The Guardian, the reporter revealed that the defender will join PSV Eindhoven on a season-long loan.
The centre-back is 'highly rated' by former Toffees director of football Marcel Brands, who is now at PSV and has been tracking the 20-year-old for a while.
He was not selected by Frank Lampard to travel for their pre-season tour of America this week, in order to help arrange his move to the Netherlands.
The Latest: Announcement due soon
Taking to Twitter, Unwin has since added that an official announcement from Everton on Branthwaite's loan move is now expected in the 'next 24-48 hours'.
The journalist tweeted in relation to the impending loan move to PSV: "Told announcement will be in next 24-48 hours."
The Verdict: Necessary move for Branthwaite
With the arrival of centre-back James Tarkowski at Everton on a free transfer following the expiry of his contract at Burnley, Branthwaite was likely to endure even less game-time than what he had last season.
The England under-21 international managed just eight senior appearances across all competitions in 2021/22, completing the full 90 minutes in only four of those matches (Transfermarkt).

At 20 years of age, he needs to be playing more regularly in order to help further his development, and going to a competitive league in the Eredivisie playing against the likes of Ajax and Feyenoord should help him to do just that.
