Sky Sports reported live on air on Thursday that Everton are in talks to sign Che Adams.

The Lowdown: Goalscorers wanted

It has been reported that the Goodison Park outfit want to sign two forwards before the transfer window closes.

They look set to sign Neal Maupay from Brighton and Hove Albion, and so that leaves room for one more before the deadline, with links to Rennes striker Serhou Guirassy also popping up this week.

The Latest: Adams talks

Reporting live on air during the Transfer Talk show on Thursday morning, Sky Sports News revealed (via Football Daily) that the Merseyside club are in talks to sign Adams:

"We're hearing that Everton want to sign a forward, and one target for them is Che Adams at Southampton. One source has told us that the deal under discussion would value Adams at up to £25m."

The Verdict: Get it done

Adding Adams into the mix as well as Maupay would be a very smart piece of business from Frank Lampard's team.

The Scotland international also boasts plenty of Premier League experience, and he opened his account for the season nicely with two goals away to Leicester City last weekend, helping Southampton to come from behind and clinch all three points in an impressive 2-1 win.

Saints manager Ralph Hasenhuttl has since claimed that Adams will not be sold at any price, but the Toffees could well test their resolve with a £25m offer before the window officially shuts on September 1st.

Nonetheless, the 26-year-old would give the Blues another handy option up top with Dominic Calvert-Lewin out injured.
