Everton have so far made a promising start to the new campaign.
They kicked their season off with a 1-0 victory away at Tottenham, and then followed that up with a 3-0 win against Salford City in the League Cup. This weekend, they will face West Bromwich Albion at home in a clash they will be expecting to win.
Following that game in midweek, Carlo Ancelotti is likely to make plenty of changes to the side. Here, we try to predict his starting XI, with 10 alterations from his midweek line-up.
In goal, Jordan Pickford should come in for Joao Virginia. The 20-year-old did keep a clean sheet against Salford, but Pickford is Ancelotti’s number one and will therefore come back into the team.
The back four picks itself at the moment. Lucas Digne and Seamus Coleman both started against Spurs and should do again here, whilst Yerry Mina and £18m-valued Michael Keane – as per Transfermarkt – are the only two fit centre-halves that are available. As such, they will both come back into the side.
Will Everton beat West Brom this weekend?
In an attacking three, Richarlison and James Rodriguez, who also impressed last week, should be included. They will flank Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who is already up and running this season having scored the only goal of the game against Jose Mourinho’s men.
