Former Premier League striker and talkSPORT pundit Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed that Jordan Pickford could actively seek a move away from Everton.

The Lowdown: Clubs circling

Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Chelsea are among a number of clubs who have reportedly expressed their interest in Pickford from the summer until now, and the England international could be tempted by a move to a 'big six' club given his situation at Goodison Park.

The Merseyside club are currently sitting just one point and one place above the relegation zone in the Premier League, and are in danger of going down again, so Pickford needs to think hard about where his future lies, with his contract running out in 2024.

The Latest: Pickford could seek move

Speaking to Football Insider, Agbonlahor has claimed that Pickford will 'definitely' look at moving to a 'big six' club in the summer, as he will have his eye on winning trophies rather than being involved in relegation battles:

“It’s just about transfer fees and who needs a keeper.

“Liverpool have got a keeper, Man City have got a keeper, Arsenal have got a keeper. Spurs or Chelsea are the two clubs that you look at.

“I think it’s definitely something he’ll look at. Spurs like to play out from the back and he’s good at that. I’d definitely look at him if I was Spurs.

“It all depends on transfer fees and I don’t think it will happen until the summer.

“Pickford will definitely be looking at his teammates and thinking ‘I don’t want to be in a relegation battle, I want to be winning trophies’.”

The Verdict: Inevitable

Given the Toffees' position, it just seems inevitable that Pickford will leave if a 'big six' club does really come knocking on the door for him.

The 28-year-old has shown his credentials on numerous occasions, most recently keeping three clean sheets in a row for England at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar ahead of the weekend's monstrous quarter-final clash with reigning champions France.

Pickford has played over 200 times for the Blues across the last six seasons, but without a piece of silverware to show for it, and at 28, the goalkeeper likely only has one more big move left in his career.

Nonetheless, if a suitable transfer fee is put on the table, Everton need to accept it and let Pickford move on.
