Everton have reportedly now plotting a move to sign Emmanuel Dennis in the summer transfer window.

The Lowdown: Dennis relegated

Despite his best efforts, the 24-year-old found himself relegated from the Premier League with Watford last season, and he seems too good of a striker to be playing in the Championship, so a move back to the top flight appears likely.

Dubbed a 'beast' by journalist Declan Carr midway through the 2021/22 campaign, the Nigeria international managed to score 10 goals and supply a further six assists in the top flight (Transfermarkt), a very impressive return in a relegated team.

The Latest: Move plotted for Dennis

Taking to Twitter in sharing a corresponding article for the Evening Standard, Simon Collings has revealed that Everton will now 'plot' a move for Dennis as a potential replacement for Richarlison, who has signed for Tottenham Hotspur in recent days.

The journalist tweeted: "Watford forward Emmanuel Dennis among targets as Everton plot how to replace Richarlison."

The Verdict: Get it done

Given the Hornets' relegation, Dennis is likely to be available at a discounted price, so interest in him should increase as the transfer window progresses.

Therefore, Everton need to get this deal done as soon as possible, in order to fend off other potential suitors for the Nigerian.

Richarlison will be a hard player to replace, given that he was the Toffees' top scorer and best performer (as per WhoScored) last season.

However, Dennis is only 24 years of age and has plenty more years left in him to reach the heights of the Brazilian, who coincidentally made the move to Goodison Park from Watford in 2018.
