Journalist Sam Wallace says that Everton are eyeing up potential moves for Bologna striker Marko Arnautovic and Watford forward Joao Pedro.

The Lowdown: Firepower needed

After losing out on winger Arnaut Danjuma to Tottenham Hotspur, Everton have still not managed to strengthen their forward line this window, with Ellis Simms only returning from his loan spell at Sunderland.

They are currently the second-lowest scorers in the Premier League, with just 15 goals in 20 games, and are in desperate need of some more help up top if they are going to get themselves out of trouble this season.

The Latest: Two strikers on the list

Taking to Twitter, The Daily Telegraph's Wallace shared that the Goodison Park outfit are 'searching' for an available striker in the last few days of the transfer window to solve their problems in front of goal, with both Pedro and Arnautovic named as potential options:

"Everton searching for an available striker to solve their goalscoring issues: Marko Arnautovic the latest candidate. Also looked at Watford's Joao Pedro, but currently injured."

The Verdict: Pedro over Arnautovic

Providing that Pedro's injury is not serious, the Merseyside club should be signing him over Arnautovic.

The 21-year-old is significantly younger than the 33-year-old Austrian, and would be hungry to prove himself in the Premier League having excelled in the Championship.

Pedro scored eight goals and made a further two assists in the division before his injury (Slaven Bilic to simply describe one of his performances as 'wow' and dubbing him as 'special' and 'amazing'.

Nonetheless, the Toffees need to get someone in through the door quickly, and Pedro could be attainable for the right price.
