The Athletic journalist David Ornstein has revealed that Everton are actively 'pursuing' a move for Armando Broja.

The Lowdown: 'Wanted'

It has been reported that Broja is 'wanted' by the Goodison Park outfit, as well as West Ham United, and he did not originally travel with the Chelsea squad to their pre-season tour of the United States.

Ornstein has since confirmed that the Albania international will now join his teammates in America 'this week', but the exit links have seemingly not gone away.

The Latest: Everton 'pursuing'

Taking to Twitter, Ornstein has revealed that the Merseyside club, alongside the Hammers still, are now 'pursuing' a deal for Broja, amid 'uncertainty' over his future at Stamford Bridge:

"Armando Broja will fly to USA this week & join Chelsea on USA tour. 20yo striker didn’t travel with group on Sat amid uncertainty over future. But despite likes of West Ham + Everton pursuing, no major developments so far."

The Verdict: Get it done

After losing Richarlison to Tottenham Hotspur, Frank Lampard's team need to bring in a new striker, and Broja could be the perfect fit.

Dubbed a player with ‘incredible pace and strength’ by Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp, the six-foot-three brute made quite the impression while on loan at Southampton last season, scoring nine goals and making one assist in total over all competitions while at St. Mary's (Transfermarkt).

Broja is only 20 years of age, and so will only be able to truly fulfil his potential with more regular game time, which the Toffees should be able to give him over Chelsea now that Richarlison has gone.
