Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth has revealed that Everton are now 'expected' to make an 'offer' for Morgan Gibbs-White.

The Lowdown: Great season

The 22-year-old had a great season on loan at Sheffield United from Wolves in 2021/22, with an impressive 12 goals and 10 assists from midfield in all competitions for the Blades (Transfermarkt).

Hailed as 'unreal' last term by European football expert and journalist Alex Barker, he helped Paul Heckingbottom's side to reach the Championship play-off semi-finals, where they were eliminated in a penalty shootout by Nottingham Forest, who eventually won promotion to the Premier League.

The Latest: Everton 'offer' expected

Taking to Twitter, Sheth has revealed that Everton are 'interested' in signing Gibbs-White, along with Nottingham Forest, and are 'expected' to make an 'offer' for the Englishman.

The Sky Sports reporter tweeted: "Everton interested in Wolves midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White & expected to make official offer. Told Wolves value him at £25m but yet to decide whether they will allow him to leave. Nottingham Forest have also shown an interest."

The Verdict: Sign him

Gibbs-White clearly appears to be too good for the Championship judging by his record last term, so he needs to be given his chance in the Premier League.

He has only made 46 senior appearances in the top flight for Wolves over four campaigns and has completed the full 90 minutes just once (Transfermarkt). At 22 years of age, he needs to be playing more regularly at this point of his career.

It has been reported that Everton are willing to sell Andre Gomes, Tom Davies and Jean-Philippe Gbamin, so bringing in Gibbs-White to atone for those potential midfield exits makes a lot of sense.
