Allan has revealed that there were other bids that were made for him before he joined Everton, as reported by the Liverpool Echo.
As per the outlet, the Brazil international revealed that he had interest from multiple other clubs before he decided to sign for the Merseyside club from SSC Napoli:
“Without a doubt there were other bids and interest from elsewhere but Everton had been interested in signing me right from the very start.
“I put the other bids to one side and just focused on signing for Everton.”
Allan’s great start to his Everton career
Allan has had a near perfect start to his career in England so far, with the Toffees currently sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League with 13 points out of a possible 15.
Is Allan the best signing Everton have made this season?
The Blues are also in the Carabao Cup quarter-final stage and will face Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United side at Goodison Park for the chance to play in the semis.
The 29-year old has been a big addition in the middle of the park, as he has won a rather impressive six duels per game in the Premier League so far, as well as averaging four tackles, 1.3 clearances and one interception per match (via Sofascore).
Allan is a ‘defender’s dream’
Michael Keane referred to Allan as a ‘defender’s dream’ in an exclusive interview that he did with the Blues’ official website last month, and with figures like the tackling stats above, it is hard to disagree with the central defender.
Ancelotti will surely be thrilled the club were able to swoop for the Brazil star, especially given the calibre of clubs who were also in the hunt.
