Everton risk losing Beni Baningime before the transfer deadline as Derby County reportedly eye a late move on Deadline Day.
As per Football Insider, former Goodison Park legend Wayne Rooney is lining up a move for the central midfield player before the deadline hits.
Does Baningime have a future at Everton?
A source from the EFL Championship club has said that the manager has asked about his availability and is an admirer of the 22-year-old having played with him previously when he returned to the Merseyside club in his second spell.
Baningime exit suits Everton
It is a real shame for Baningime that he has fallen so far down the pecking order for Carlo Ancelotti’s team.
Back in April 2017, David Unsworth was claiming that he was in the mould of N’Golo Kante, a Premier League winner with both Leicester City and Chelsea.
However, he has not played in a senior game for the Toffees since 2018, and has only made 12 senior appearances in all competitions in total (Transfermarkt).
With the likes of Allan and Abdoulaye Doucoure signing for the Blues in the summer transfer window, the midfielder has seen his opportunities very limited, and so a move away to DCFC, where he will certainly get more game time, would definitely be a move that would suit all parties involved.
