Everton: Carlo Ancelotti wants to sign Christian Luyindama ‘at all costs’ - Everton Transfer Rumours

Everton have got their eye on Galatasaray defender Christian Luyindama, who has ‘seduced’ Carlo Ancelotti.

The Blues are planning to pull out all the stops to bring the 26-year-old to Goodison Park this summer, according to a report from Africa Top Sports (via Sport Witness).

Luyindama would reportedly be available for €15million (£13.4m) in the upcoming transfer window.

Fans and professionals alike are eagerly waiting to see what magic Ancelotti conjures up during the summer. The club have highlighted their defence and middle of the park as areas of concern, after being linked with several centre-backs and central midfielders.

Will Everton win a trophy under Carlo Ancelotti?

According to the report linking Luyindama to the Toffees, Ancelotti wants to ‘recruit him at all costs’ and sees him as a way to improve Everton’s current backline.

The DR Congo international has made a total of 112 senior appearances across his career so far and has contributed to 13 goals (via Transfermarkt). In comparison to current Everton centre-back Yerry Mina (1.5), Luyindama has averaged more tackles (1.7) in their respective leagues this season. The Galatasaray defender has also made more clearances on average (3.8) than Mina (3.6) and Mason Holgate (3.3) – via WhoScored.

After Ancelotti reportedly said he ‘would only have eyes for Luyindama’ it seems the 26-year-old has overtaken Gabriel Magalhaes and Jean-Clair Todibo in the list of priority signings ahead of next season.
