Lots of Everton fans have been rejoicing over the latest transfer claim on James Rodriguez as Transfermarkt have reported that he joined up at Goodison Park on a free transfer from Real Madrid.
According to the outlet, the Spanish giants only secured themselves a sell-on clause, which would earn them a percentage of the Colombia international’s next transfer fee. The percentage is understood to be in the lower and conventional range.
Will Rodriguez fit in at Everton under Carlo Ancelotti?
Indeed, this could be seen as a great bit of business by the Merseyside club, as the current market value of Rodriguez is £28.8m.
The 29-year old is a statement signing from the Toffees given his pedigree, as he has two Champions League trophies as well as several other major titles to his name, as per Transfermarkt.
These Everton supporters on Twitter loved the news, with one Toffees fan labelling the business as ‘unbelievable’ and another hailing the role of the club’s director of football Marcel Brands in getting the deal done:
Wow great business by the blues
