Plenty of Everton fans are happy with a transfer link to Ben Godfrey as David Ornstein wrote in a piece for The Athletic suggesting that the Norwich City ace is an option for the Merseyside club to sign in the summer window.
According to the football journalist, Jean-Clair Todibo from FC Barcelona is another option for Carlo Ancelotti’s team should they not be able to land Fikayo Tomori on a loan deal from Chelsea, with Frank Lampard apparently determined to keep him after talks were held between the two Premier League sides.
However, it is the possibility of signing Godfrey that has caught the eye of some members of the Goodison Park faithful.
Indeed, despite the relegation of the Canaries to the EFL Championship in the 2019/20 term, the central defender actually averaged more clearances, blocks and passes than Mason Holgate, Michael Keane and Yerry Mina in the top flight, as per Whoscored.
Should Godfrey start for Everton?
These EFC supporters were happy with the link to the 22-year old on Twitter, with one Toffee even branding the prospect of signing him as ‘exciting:’
Godfrey would be a steady 3rd & 4th choice but he wouldn’t come cheap
