Lots of Everton fans have been loving the latest news on Abdoulaye Doucoure as The Athletic (via The Toffee Blues) have reported that the Merseyside club are currently in talks with Watford over his possible transfer in the summer window.
According to the outlet, the Hornets value the player at £30 million, and the Toffees have already agreed terms in principle with him on a four-year deal.
Should Everton pay £30 million for Doucoure?
Indeed, the Blues have also been chasing SSC Napoli ace Allan, with Doucoure also on their shortlist as Carlo Ancelotti looks to strengthen the central midfield position.
Comparing the stats of the Frenchman to Fabian Delph, Tom Davies and Andre Gomes in the Premier League in the 2019/20 season, Doucoure averaged the most tackles, shots and key passes per game, as per Whoscored.
At 27 years of age as well, the midfielder is arguably in his prime and may well prove to be an upgrade in the middle of the park.
These members of the Goodison Park faithful loved the news upon reading it on Twitter:
Hurry up before spurs come in for him

Would fit perfectly alongside Allan in a midfield duo. Massive upgrade in our midfield then. Gomes and Gbamin provide adequate depth.

I’d be more than happy signing Doucoure he’s exactly what we need mate

as for doucoure, he’d currently walk into our team and is a good player. I hope we sign him.

I don’t see the comparison.
We know what Doucoure can do he’s been an above average CM/DM in the PL for years now and he’s 27. He makes perfect sense in our midfield in terms of what he brings.
Allan is a risk, but he played well in the UCL and for the manager already.
