Lots of Everton fans have reacted to the latest transfer news from Sport (via The Toffee Blues) that the Merseyside club still remain the favourites to sign Jean-Clair Todibo from FC Barcelona.
The Spanish giants have set the central defender’s asking price at €25 million (roughly £22.4 million) but the Toffees are trying to bring the fee down to €20 million (roughly £17.9 million).
The 20-year old is currently on loan at FC Schalke 04, as he has featured in eight games in the Bundesliga so far in the 2019/20 season, according to Sofascore.
However, the team have kept 0 clean sheets in the German league with him in it, and he also loses the ball on average 6.1 times per match, as per the website.
One Blue claimed that the Frenchman’s ‘attitude is horrible’, which has been reported before. Another EFC supporter asked if the club were ‘forgetting about Gabriel’, another centre-back that has been previously linked. However there were some who were positive about his potential addition, with one suggesting he has the ‘potential to be great’ – indeed this is a view backed up by German great Lothar Matthaus who has previously raved about the defender.
Should Everton sign Todibo over Gabriel?
Nevertheless, these supporters reacted to the transfer link on Twitter, with some fairly mixed responses:
Have we just got a 25 million a year standing order with barca, 😂
