Lots of Everton fans have been reacting to Simon Johnson’s latest update on the Merseyside club’s pursuit to sign Chelsea ace Fikayo Tomori on loan for the new 2020/21 term.
According to tweets from The Athletic journalist, the proposed loan move to get Tomori to Goodison Park from Stamford Bridge is currently hanging in the balance.
There is still a possibility that he will be part of Frank Lampard’s plans for this campaign, but Johnson admitted that it does not look as if the matter will be resolved soon.
Tomori would like some more game time to try and force his way back into Gareth Southgate’s England squad and it is unknown as of yet how often he would play for the Blues.
ESPN had previously reported that the Englishman is close to joining the Toffees on loan for the next season.
Indeed, the 22-year old would arguably start for Carlo Ancelotti’s team, as the central defender averaged more tackles, interceptions, key passes, dribbles and crosses per Premier League game than Mason Holgate, Michael Keane and Yerry Mina in the 2019/20 season, as per Whoscored.
Does Tomori start for Everton?

Doesn’t sound like it will be resolved soon. Will Everton wait? Tomori does want regular game time this season to get back in the England squad – can Chelsea give him that? Decisions, decisions…

Like last season… And end up short. Hope they are already lining others up…

Everton shouldn’t be messed around like last season. Give Chelsea deadline or move on

If their messing about with Tomori, ask for Zouma, if they mess about with him then move on @Everton!

Lampard playing the same game he played with Zouma last season. Move on

Seemed odd they wanted to loan him to us with Keane, holgate and Mina. Surely better going somewhere else for his development
