Everton: Fans slam latest update on Fikayo Tomori loan move - Everton Transfer Rumours

Everton have been linked with a short-term move for Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori, however, a deal could now be off the cards.

That’s according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein (relayed via @EvertonNewsFeed), who has reported that talks between the two clubs have died down.

Is James Rodriguez to Everton one of the best signings of the transfer window?

Tomori, 22, has been fighting for game time under Frank Lampard recently after the likes of Kurt Zouma and Andreas Christensen have received the nod ahead of him. Reports linked Carlo Ancelotti’s side with a loan move for the Canada-born defender.

But, with Lampard potentially mulling over his own defensive frailties, he may have changed his mind over letting Tomori leave. This puts Everton in a predicament, as they have just two fit centre-backs on their senior roster at the moment.

However, it seems that Blues fans are glad the talks have fizzled out, allowing them to move onto other targets. One supporter has said that they have ‘learnt from last season’ not to chase targets with a dead end. Another Evertonian thinks dropping interested in £14.4m-valued Tomori is the ‘right thing to do’.
