Lots of Everton fans want to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers ace Diogo Jota as Nuno Espirito Santo appeared to rather abruptly rule him out of being available for their home Premier League game at Molineux against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
Speaking after the 1-0 defeat at home by EFL Championship club Stoke City in the Carabao Cup second round, the Wolves boss said in his post-match press conference (via Ryan Taylor):
“He was not on the squad list. Period.”
Jota immediately left the stadium after the defeat and was an unused sub on Monday in the 2-0 win at Bramall Lane versus Chris Wilder’s Sheffield United in their opening match in the 2020/21 top-flight term.
Does Jota start for Everton?
This may fuel speculation as to whether the Portuguese international has fallen out with his coach and thus may be available for the rest of the summer transfer window.
Indeed, Jota would arguably be a solid signing for Carlo Ancelotti’s team should the Toffees go in for him, as he has shown to do very well in England’s highest division, scoring a relatively impressive 16 goals and making a further six assists in 67 games mainly operating from the wing, according to Transfermarkt.
These members of the Goodison Park faithful urged the Blues to sign the 23-year old on Twitter:

Amid the Zaha rumours which Moshiri is still pushing big time. I’d live us to be in for this lad. Has the look of an “Everton” player
