Everton under-23 player Josh Bowler will miss out on a possible move away from the Merseyside club as Liverpool Echo confirmed that surgery on a training ground injury will rule him out of action for more than 12 weeks.
As per the news outlet, Bowler was nominated for the Premier League 2 player of the month award this week after a bright start to the new season, with scored two goals in three games, according to Transfermarkt.
Transfer interest in Josh Bowler
The 21-year old apparently had interest in his services before the rather unfortunate injury had occurred, as he pulled his hip flexor during shooting practice, and he is expected to remain sidelined until after Christmas.
The Merseyside club were reportedly looking to offload Bowler, who spent last season on loan in the Championship with Hull City, and he will now face a race against time to secure a move for when the January transfer window opens.

Too much competition for Bowler to break through
Indeed, Bowler may find it difficult to break into the Everton first team under Carlo Ancelotti, as they currently have Alex Iwobi, Bernard, Anthony Gordon and Yannick Bolasie as options on the wings, while the likes of James Rodriguez and Richarlison can also fill in on both flanks.
Therefore, once he recovers from his injury setback, it may be a wise idea for the Toffees to let him go so that he can develop his footballing career away from the Blues.
