According to the outlet, the AFC Bournemouth ace has a number of possible suitors in the Premier League.
The Merseyside club are one of those teams from the top flight reportedly interested in signing Brooks from the EFL Championship before the deadline passes for the domestic transfer window.
However, the Cherries are apparently determined to hold out for £40 million for their prized asset, with no pressure to sell.
In addition, the Wales international still has two years left remaining on his current contract at the Vitality Stadium, and Jason Tindall’s side may want to keep him to try and bounce back into England’s highest division.
Brooks has performed in the Premier League
Indeed, Brooks has performed well in the top tier before, scoring seven goals and making a further five assists in 30 games in the 2018/19 term (via Transfermarkt).
The 23-year old also created nine big chances and averaged one key pass a match in that season (per Sofascore).
Do Everton need Brooks?
With the arrival of attacking midfield player James Rodriguez in the summer, one may question as to whether the Goodison Park faithful actually need to sign Brooks, especially for such a massive price tag.
Would Brooks start for Everton?
Yes, he is an exciting player who could add to Carlo Ancelotti’s side, but for a £40m, considering his injury record, perhaps the Toffees should leave this one for now.
