Many Everton fans have been left to flock to a very interesting transfer update involving the son of Jamie Carragher.

As per The Times, the Goodison Park faithful are interested in signing his son James Carragher from Wigan Athletic, and talks have already taken place between the two clubs.

The 18-year-old's scholarship is ending at the Latics and he has been offered a professional contract.

However, the Merseyside club have been tracking him since he impressed in a match against them and would bring him into their U23's set-up.

It is understood that one offer has already been turned down, but the Toffees could come in with another offer.

Given Jamie Carragher's allegiance to Liverpool, even though he grew up as an Evertonian, it would certainly be an interesting signing to bring in his son, but if he turns out to be as good as what his father was, then the young central defender could be a great addition for the Blues.
