Many Everton fans have been left raging as a transfer update emerged on James Rodriguez.
Writing in his latest piece for The Times, Paul Joyce has said that the Goodison Park faithful still hope that they can sell or loan out the former Real Madrid star to another club, with the Portuguese, Turkish and Russian transfer windows still being open.
Should Everton have kept Rodriguez?
Rodriguez managed to score six goals and make a further nine assists in 26 matches in total in all competitions across the 2020/21 season (Transfermarkt), and supporters of the Merseyside club were unable to see him in action, so they will be desperate to see him play in the flesh this campaign.
With the English window now shut, it would not really make sense to let him go and so it is not a surprise at all to see so many Toffees raging after hearing this update.
Everton fans on Rodriguez transfer update
These Blues raged as the transfer update was shared on Twitter, with one even going as far as to claim that it was ‘ridiculous’:
“We are a joke”
“We would be crazy to let him go right now.”
“Literally the only creativity in the midfield and we want to let him go”
“Hopefully not true. That would be ridiculous”
