Everton’s new era at the Hill Dickinson Stadium has started brightly.
Under David Moyes, the Toffees have shown real progress, climbing to eighth in the Premier League and playing some of their most confident football in years.
The atmosphere around the club has lifted, thanks in no small part to Jack Grealish, who joined from Manchester City in the summer. The England star has hit the ground running, recently scoring the winner in a 2–1 victory over high-flying Crystal Palace, further endearing himself to the Goodison faithful.
Yet Moyes, back for his second spell in charge, knows his team are still a few steps away from recapturing the consistency that once made Everton a top-five contender during his first tenure.
With that in mind, the Scotsman is already planning for January — and one of Grealish’s former teammates could be next through the door.
Everton to Launch Phillips Bid

According to a report from Football Insider, Everton are preparing to make a move for Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips when the transfer window reopens.
The 29-year-old made a rare appearance for City last month — his first in almost two years — but remains well down Pep Guardiola’s pecking order and is expected to leave the Etihad in January.
Given his wages and City’s valuation, a loan deal is considered the most realistic route for interested clubs, and sources suggest Everton are actively exploring that option as they assess midfield reinforcements for the second half of the season.
Since joining City from Leeds United in 2022, Phillips has struggled to establish himself, making just 16 Premier League appearances across three campaigns.
Short loan spells at West Ham and Ipswich Town failed to reignite his form, but Moyes reportedly believes that a change of environment — and the promise of regular football — could bring out the best in him again.
Given how well Everton have managed to revive Grealish’s career, the move could prove inspired. If Phillips can rediscover the drive and energy that once made him a standout for Leeds and England, he could become another key figure in Moyes’ new-look Everton.
