# Everton: Michael Brown drops damning transfer claim

**Michael Brown has dropped a quite worrying transfer claim on Everton and the possible business that they may do in this month’s window.**

Speaking to [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/there-could-be-a-12m-future-payment-exclusive-pundit-view-on-skys-everton-update/), the former Spurs and Leeds United central midfield player does not think that the Goodison Park faithful will bring in many new players in January:

*“I think they’ve come out and said there’s not gonna be much movement in the transfer window.*

*“I thought there would be a little bit of movement, to be honest. I thought if there was someone there that wasn’t too far out of reach then they’d do it.*

*“But when they say not much movement, it might mean one or two that they’re working on. But it’s not going to be an influx, is it?*

*“But you think, with Ancelotti doing well, is there gonna be three or four coming in again? But it doesn’t look like that’s going to be the case.”*

### Worrying

Carlo Ancelotti’s team should really be looking at bringing in some signings if they would like to cement themselves in the European qualification spots for the next term.

If Dominic Calvert-Lewin is injured or out of form for a sustained period of time, then the only senior back-up striker currently available to the Toffees is Cenk Tosun, who has been heavily [linked](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/everton-fc-transfer-rumours/everton-fans-fume-at-cenk-tosun-transfer-update/) with a move away from the Blues before the transfer window shuts and is not exactly the most prolific forward, scoring a mere 11 times in a total of 58 games over all competitions across the last four consecutive seasons for EFC ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/cenk-tosun/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/45671/plus/0?saison=&verein=29&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=)).

There are other positions that Everton could still look to strengthen too, and with just eight points separating the top seven, they may not get a better chance to break into the top six than this campaign.
