# Everton: Toffees ‘in talks’ to sign Michy Batshuayi

**[Everton](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/everton-fc-news/) are ‘in talks’ to sign out-of-favour Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi on a permanent deal this summer, according to football.london journalist Bobby Vincent.**

### **The Lowdown: Chelsea career seemingly over**

The 28-year-old attacker has entered the [final 12 months](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/michy-batshuayi/profil/spieler/179184) of his contract at Stamford Bridge, and he does not appear to be a part of Thomas Tuchel’s plans going forward.

The Belgium international joined the west London outfit in 2016 for [£33m](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/jul/03/chelsea-announce-signing-michy-batshuayi), arriving at the club with high expectations. However, he has spent the majority of his Chelsea career on loan at various teams across Europe, having made just [77 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/michy-batshuayi/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/179184/verein/631) for the Blues during his six-year tenure.

### **The Latest: Vincent’s news**

Vincent, who is [football.london](https://www.football.london/chelsea-fc/transfer-news/lampard-thomas-tuchel-chelsea-transfer-24633758)’s Chelsea correspondent, has shared news of Batshuayi’s future under Tuchel.

Taking to [Twitter](https://twitter.com/BobbyVincentFL/status/1553764926220513280), the reliable journalist claimed: “Michy Batshuayi in talks with Everton. #EFC want a permanent deal and Chelsea are willing to do business if the price is right. #CFC”

### **The Verdict: Everton move could do him good**

Everton manager Frank Lampard is familiar with the Belgian forward, who he knows during his time in charge of Chelsea.

During the 2019/20 season, the current Toffees boss handed Batshuayi [24 appearances](https://www.football.london/chelsea-fc/transfer-news/lampard-thomas-tuchel-chelsea-transfer-24633758) for the Blues, with the striker netting [six goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/michy-batshuayi/leistungsdatentrainer/spieler/179184/plus/0/saison/2019/verein/631/trainer_id/60805) during this period.

Once dubbed a [‘prolific’](https://twitter.com/AJ_Wood15/status/1010524018934452224) goalscorer by journalist Alex Wood, Lampard could be the man to revive the 28-year-old’s [Premier League](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/) career.

Wit [14 league goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/michy-batshuayi/detaillierteleistungsdaten/spieler/179184) for Besiktas last season, Batshuayi will be looking to maintain his goalscoring form going into the new campaign, and a move to Everton could be the right step in doing so if he wishes to reunite with his former manager.
