# Newcastle United: Magpies ‘considering’ Armando Broja bid

**[Newcastle United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/newcastle-united-news/) are reportedly ‘considering’ a bid for Chelsea striker Armando Broja.**

### The Lowdown: In demand

Broja is a striker in demand after an impressive loan spell at Southampton from Chelsea last season, where he scored nine goals and made one assist in all competitions ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/armando-broja/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/571743/plus/0?saison=&verein=180&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=)).

The likes of [West Ham United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/west-ham-transfer-rumours/west-ham-news-talksport-moyes-broja-deal-whufc-latest/) and [Everton](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/everton-fc-news/chelsea-transfer-news-broja-batshuayi-premier-league/) have strongly been linked with a move, while a return to the [Saints](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/southampton-fc-transfer-rumours/southampton-armando-broja-transfer-news-latest-rumours-hasenhuttl-chelsea/) has also not been ruled out.

### The Latest: Bid considered

Speaking to [EFC Daily](https://efcdaily.wixsite.com/everton/post/excl-ben-jacobs-cbs-sports), [CBS Sports Golazo journalist Ben Jacobs](https://twitter.com/JacobsBen) has revealed that the St. James’ Park outfit are ‘considering’ making a bid for Broja, adding that his situation is ‘one to watch’ later on in the window:

*“Newcastle are considering a bid and Everton could yet formally advance their interest, too. It’s one to watch later in the window as Broja’s Chelsea future becomes clearer.”*

### The Verdict: Get it done

With so much interest from Broja from their Premier League rivals, this is a deal that the North East club simply need to get done as soon as possible.

Hailed as [‘devastating](https://tbrfootball.com/he-has-exploded-international-manager-says-58m-striker-arsenal-reportedly-want-is-totally-devastating/)‘ by Albania assistant coach Sergio Porrini, and a player with [‘incredible pace and strength’](https://twitter.com/Blue_Footy/status/1526649241267064832) by Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp, it is hard to believe that the six-foot-three colossus is still only 20 years of age, and he already has four goals in 14 caps for his country too ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/armando-broja/nationalmannschaft/spieler/571743)).

Nonetheless, having already added defensive reinforcements in Nick Pope, Sven Botman and Matt Targett, the Magpies should now be focusing on strengthening their attack, and Broja would certainly fit the bill.
