# Newcastle United: PIF ‘most interested’ in Moise Kean

**The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s (KSA) Public Investment Fund (PIF) are reportedly ‘most interested’ to sign Juventus striker Moise Kean for [Newcastle United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/newcastle-united-news/).**

### The Lowdown: On loan from Everton

Kean is actually on loan at the Old Lady from Everton, but the Italians have an [obligation](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/moise-kean/transfers/spieler/364135) to buy him at the end of the season.

The striker had hit a purple patch in terms of form before the break for the FIFA World Cup, with [three goals in his last two](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/moise-kean/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/364135/plus/0?saison=2022&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=) Serie A games.

### The Latest: Newcastle interest

As per Italian news outlet [Juve Dipendenza](https://www.juvedipendenza.net/2022/11/21/kean-preoccupare-juventus-situazione-complica/), the St. James’ Park outfit are one of a number of clubs that are ‘most interested’ in signing Kean, and Juve would be willing to negotiate a potential player swap deal involving Allan Saint-Maximin.

The winger’s season has been hampered by [injury](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/allan-saint-maximin/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/272642/plus/0?saison=2022&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=) so far, and he has been [linked](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/newcastle-united-news/newcastle-premier-league-allan-saint-maximin-transfer-news-updates/) with a move away from the North East.

### The Verdict: No deal

The Tynesiders should not be looking to get rid of Saint-Maximin, even if it involves potentially bringing another player in.

He has been a great servant to the Magpies, playing over 100 matches over the last four campaigns, scoring 13 goals and making a further 19 assists ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/allan-saint-maximin/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/272642/plus/0?saison=&verein=762&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=)).

Nonetheless, swapping him for Kean would likely not work out long-term, given Kean’s [poor record](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/moise-kean/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/364135/plus/0?saison=&verein=29&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=) with the Toffees in England.

Hailed as [‘fearless’ and ‘courageous’](https://theathletic.com/2193852/2020/11/13/moise-kean-everton-psg-loan/) by his former manager and ex-Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel, the 22-year-old did burst onto the scene as a teenager, making his debut for the Italian national team at the tender age of just [18](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/moise-kean/nationalmannschaft/spieler/364135).

His playing style is [similar](https://fbref.com/en/players/3d50bcdb/Moise-Kean#all_wages) to that of Toon striker Callum Wilson, who is with the England squad in Qatar, but with him and [club-record](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11678/12681193/alexander-isak-newcastle-sign-striker-from-real-sociedad-for-club-record-63m) summer signing Alexander Isak already at the club, it seems unreasonable to bring in another forward so soon, especially one that ultimately failed in English football.
