Branthwaite was previously hailed by his former manager at Carlisle, Steven Pressley, who [claimed](https://www.evertonfc.com/news/1753567/ive-no-doubt-branthwaite-has-the-attributes-to-be-an-england-player): “I think he has got everything. He can pass the ball almost equally as good with both feet. He’s a terrific footballer.

“And If he continues to develop, then, without doubt, he can be an England player.”

If Branthwaite gets the first-team experience he needs, he could be a great long-term addition to Frank Lampard’s squad.
