The forward made the controversial switch from Liverpool to Chelsea and while he may be able to boast a very impressive trophy haul from his time at Stamford Bridge, he became a figure of fun and ridicule and never managed to get the Chelsea fans on board – not that we can blame them after his performance in a blue shirt or anything!

The Liverpool crown meanwhile sung his name and gave him a hero’s reception during the Carragher v Gerrard face off and Torres took to Instagram to show his appreciation.

Liverpool fans. Have a look at this emotional post from your former hero.

> [Thank you Liverpool supporters for everything you gave me in my career , you are just different class . It was a privilege to play in front of you again. Today I feel in peace with myself , hearing you singing my name is something I will never forget. From the bottom of my hart thank you very much Liverpool!!! #YWNWA](https://instagram.com/p/002ml1BXX0/)
