# Exclusive: Ex-Leeds star drops big Bamford take amid Spurs link

**Former Leeds United star Jon Newsome has claimed that there is next to no chance of Patrick Bamford joining Tottenham Hotspur this summer.**

Bamford has enjoyed a superb season for the Whites, as Leeds have taken well to life in the Premier League.

The forward [scored 17 goals in 38 games](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/patrick-bamford/profil/spieler/183334), also registering eight assists, and has been linked with Spurs as a potential replacement for Harry Kane.

Kane, of course, is said to have asked to leave the club this summer, per [Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11675/12309404/harry-kane-again-tells-tottenham-he-wants-to-leave-as-manchester-city-manchester-united-chelsea-lie-in-wait), sparking rumours of a potential move to Manchester City, Mancheter United, or Chelsea.

Bamford is [said](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9589309/Where-Harry-Kane-end-summer-candidates-replace-Tottenham.html) to have been considered as a potential recruit to replace the England captain but it remains to be seen if a bid will be tabled.

The ex-Leeds star, though, says that there is next to no chance of Leeds allowing Bamford to leave this summer.

Speaking exclusively to **The Transfer Tavern**, he said: *“I really don’t see Leeds United wanting to accept offers for him.”*

Bamford has a contract until 2022 and is valued at £16.2m by [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/patrick-bamford/profil/spieler/183334).
