# Exclusive: Paul Stewart warns Raphinha is not Liverpool standard

**Leeds United attacker Raphinha is not Liverpool standard, ex-Reds player Paul Stewart has warned his former side.**

Raphinha has settled to life in England well, coming up with [15](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/raphinha/leistungsdaten/spieler/411295) goal involvements in his debut Premier League season.

The Brazilian is now being linked with a move to Anfield, with journalist [Gianluigi Longari](https://twitter.com/Glongari/status/1400430177369350156?s=20) claiming that Liverpool are leading the race to sign him.

Stewart, however, albeit a fan of the player, has warned Reds boss Jurgen Klopp and sporting director Michael Edwards that Raphinha is not at the required standard yet.

*“For me, he’s not Liverpool standard,”* Stewart said in an exclusive interview with **TT**. *“I think he’s a great player, don’t get me wrong, but I don’t think you’re getting anything better in terms of \[Sadio\] Mane, \[Roberto\] Firmino and \[Mohamed\] Salah.”*

Even if Raphinha is ready to make that step up to a team like Liverpool, getting him out of Leeds is likely to be extremely difficult.

The [£27m](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/raphinha/profil/spieler/411295)-rated player only arrived at Elland Road in the last summer transfer window so still has [three](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/raphinha/profil/spieler/411295) years left on his contract.

Bearing that in mind, and the fact that he has already become so important to Leeds with his contribution in attack, it would be a surprise if the Yorkshire club were willing to let him go this transfer window.
