# Exclusive: Pundit can see Jack Grealish staying at Aston Villa despite interest

**Speaking exclusively to [The Transfer Tavern](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/), former Manchester City player Paul Stewart can see Jack Grealish remaining at Aston Villa despite interest from his old side.**

According to a recent report from the [Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9627183/Manchester-City-set-smash-British-transfer-record-Aston-Villa-star-Jack-Grealish.html), the Premier League champions are prepared to pay £100m for the 25-year-old attacking midfielder this summer.

This comes after a brilliant league campaign, where Grealish scored six goals, provided 10 assists and averaged the most dribbles per game in Villa’s squad ([via WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/24/Show/England-Aston-Villa)).

For Stewart, though, there is no guarantee that Manchester City will be able to add that to their ranks.

*“The thing with Jack Grealish is he’s an Aston Villa fan and he’s captain of Villa,”* the ex-Man City star said.

*“If they were to perhaps offer him what another club might, he may consider, because of his affinity to Villa, to stay.”*

All of that, of course, will probably have to wait until after the Euros, with the Villa captain a part of Gareth Southgate’s England squad.

Grealish is not the only England international currently being linked with a move to the Etihad. Last month, [Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11675/12309404/harry-kane-again-tells-tottenham-he-wants-to-leave-as-manchester-city-manchester-united-chelsea-lie-in-wait) reported that Manchester City had been in contact with Harry Kane’s representatives as he tries to find a way out of Tottenham this summer.
