# Exclusive: Pundit tells West Ham to get Andriy Yarmolenko “out of the building”

**West Ham need to get Andriy Yarmolenko “out of the building” this summer, says former Premier League midfielder Carlton Palmer.**

Yarmolenko is said to be attracting interest, with Burnley thought to be one side keen on the Ukrainian attacker’s signature.

According to journalist [Ekrem Konur](https://twitter.com/Ekremkonur/status/1416378395840163846?s=20), the Premier League side are set to make a £3m bid as they look to lure the player to Turf Moor.

Yarmolenko is West Ham’s highest earner, according to [Spotrac](https://www.spotrac.com/epl/west-ham-united-fc/payroll/), pocketing £115,000-a-week.

He was only a bit-part player last season, though, starting just [one](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/andriy-yarmolenko/leistungsdaten/spieler/69015/plus/0?saison=2020) league game, prompting Palmer to suggest that the Hammers should get rid of him this summer.

*“If he’s your highest wage earner and he’s only a bit–part* *player, then get him out of the building,”* the ex-Leeds United player said in an exclusive interview with **TT**.

*“That’s as simple as it is because it frees up salary, so I’m sure David Moyes is working on that now.”*

Yarmolenko has quality and has shown it as recently as last month in the Euros, where he exquisitely [curled one into the top corner](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2021/june/13-june/west-ham-united-forward-andriy-yarmolenko-scores-stunning-goal) with that left foot of his against the Netherlands.

However, now 31, on huge wages and not a first-team regular, it is probably best if West Ham move him on.
